California nursing school application deadlines
When do nursing applications open? Each California RN program sets its own application window, and most don’t line up. This calendar lists 157 programs (programs listed in the deadlines table); 121 of them have published application dates, from community college ADN programs to CSU, UC and private BSN and ELM programs. Every date links to the school’s page or application document, with the date we last checked it. Schools change dates, so confirm on the school’s site before you plan around one.
- Dates come from each school’s own pages and can change without notice. The school’s page is the authority, not SEAPHE.
- Impacted programs (most CSU campuses, for example) may require you to be admitted to the university first. The calendar shows the nursing deadline the school publishes; check the university deadline too.
- We don’t list deadlines we can’t source. “Not published” means we didn’t find a date on an official page.
- Search or filter. Type a school or city, or filter by program type (ADN, BSN, ELM) and region.
- Check both windows. Some programs have a school application and a separate nursing application, and some open more than once a year (fall and spring starts). Each window gets its own row.
- Open the source. Before you apply, open the school’s link and check the date again.

Questions
When do nursing school applications open in California?
It depends on the program. Many community college ADN programs open once or twice a year for fall and spring starts; CSU nursing applications usually follow the Cal State Apply calendar plus a supplemental nursing application. Check each row for the dates the school publishes.
Is there a waitlist if I miss the deadline?
Usually not. Most programs select a new class each cycle, and applicants who aren’t chosen reapply.
Are these dates guaranteed?
