Corrections policy
Applicants make expensive decisions with our numbers. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so in public.
Our policy
SEAPHE publishes data from public sources such as the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), plus guides that explain it. We check every figure against its source before publishing, but mistakes happen. Sometimes we make a transcription or calculation error, and sometimes an agency revises its data after release.
- We correct errors of fact promptly. That includes wrong numbers, misattributed sources, outdated program details and calculations that don’t match our published method.
- We say what changed. Each substantive correction is noted on the page where it appears, with the date, and listed in the correction log below.
- We don’t quietly rewrite history. We may fix typos, broken links and formatting without a note. Anything that changes a number, a conclusion or a source gets logged.
- Source revisions are updates, not corrections. When the BRN or another publisher revises its own data, we update the page, cite the new release and keep the original figure in our records.
- Schools get no special treatment. Programs can point out errors like anyone else, and we verify them against the public record. We don’t change accurate data because a school asks us to, and schools cannot pay to change their numbers or placement. See our advertising and affiliate disclosure.
How to report an error
Email corrections@seaphe.org.
To help us check quickly, please include:
- The page address (URL) and the figure or sentence you think is wrong
- What you believe is correct
- A link to a public source, such as a BRN table or the school’s official page, if you have one
We review every report against the public record and fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can.
